Extreme social media
“We don’t have a choice on whether we DO social media, the question is how well we DO it.” – Erik Qualman. I have been trying to ascertain the up to date statistics on social media platforms presently, however, there are conflicting reports and articles on the numbers. Apparently, there are about 1 billion people on Facebook, 200 million active on Twitter, about 50 million on Instagram and so fourth. Currently I have a Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts. So, I have been contemplating about Google+ and Pinterest for a while now. Social media is the way forward, in which we communicate now. Interestingly enough, 1 in 5 couples meet online and 1 in 5 divorces are blamed on Facebook. Amazing. Everything is now at your fingertips, 24 hours a day from your smartphone or PC, anything, anytime, anywhere really. Social media is about people, a phenomenon sweeping the world with no pause button. So, I reckon, I might check out Pinterest, strong women following, about 70%. On conclusion, social media is revolutionary, enough said.
“Social media is about being open, being a connector, being supportive and being yourself.” – Michael Q. Todd
